Closing arguments will begin today in Whiteside County court in the case against accused spree-killer Nicholas Sheley of Sterling.
The 33-year old Sheley chose not to testify during the trial yesterday and his attorneys did not call any witnesses to the stand.
Sheley is on trial for the killing of 93-year old Russell Reed of Sterling back in the summer of 2008. He's just 1 of 8 people Sheley is accused of killing in both Illinois and Missouri.
He has been convicted in the murder of a Galesburg man. Sheley received a sentence of life in prison.
4 of the other killings took place in Rock Falls while an Arkansas couple were killed in Missouri.
