Testimony will continue today in Whiteside County court for 33-year old Nicholas Sheley of Sterling charged with the murder of a 93-year old man in the summer of 2008.
Sheley has been charged with the killing of Russell Reed of Sterling.
It will be day 6 of the trial today. Testimony last week included Reed's son, a doctor who handled the autopsy in the case, and an attorney who received a letter from Sheley saying that he had planned to plead guilty in the killing of Reed to keep his brother out of trouble.
Sheley has already been convicted in the murder of a Galesburg man during the killing spree of 2008. He received a sentence of life in prison.
Sheley has also been charged with 6 other murders whicn took place in Rock Falls and Southern Illinois.
