State poll shows Obama will win in Illinois on Tuesday

A new statewide poll shows that President Obama should easily win Illinois, though the same may not be true for Democrats in redrawn congressional districts. The We Ask America poll of nearly 12-hundred state residents shows the President with a 57 to 41-percent lead over Mitt Romney, with two-percent of voters supporting an independent candidate. Obama leads Romney strongly in Chicago and Cook County, while regions outside Chicagoland give Romney a slight edge. The poll also shows that in the13th congressional district, Republican Rodney Davis leads Democrat David Gill by five percentage points in a voting area redrawn by the Legislature to make it more favorable to Democrats.
