A new report shows that the unemployment rate dropped by nearly 2 percent last month in Ogle County compared to figures in 2011.
September had a jobless rate of 9.7 percent, 1.8 percent lower than the previous year.
Winnebago and Boone Counties along with the city of Rockford also saw their unemployment rate decline by between 1 to 3 percent.
The city of Rockford still has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 12.9 percent.
The jobless rate in Illinois is at 8.8 percent, just over 1 percent lower than in 2011.
1 of the reasons behind the lower numbers was additional jobs in manufacturing along with professional and business services.
