An update report on the Capital Improvement projects in the district along with a 9-hole Disc Golf course topped the discussion last night for park officials in Rochelle.
The board heard a report from Executive Director Eric Christensen dealing with the improvements from the capital projects. The list included Cooper Park, Lake Sule, along with the tennis courts at the Helms Athletic complex and Skate Board Park.
The board is looking at least at a 2-year plan for the park district.
Park officials tabled changes in the cell phone policy. The proposal involved adding 4 more employees to the program in which they would receive a stipend for using their own cell phones for work.
Dag Grada of DeKalb has put together a plan for a 9-hole disc golf course at Skare Park. The course would be located on the east side of the park and away from the hiking trails.
No action was taken by the board last night on the 9-hole proposal.
Following an executive session, the park district plans to go out for bids to lease their farm land for 2 parcels at Skare park and the property at Lake Sule. The larger area of land at Skare park would be a 2-year lease. The other 2 parcels would have a 1-year lease.
