Sycamore man arrested in motorcycle crash

DeKalb County Sheriff's police have arrested a Sycamore man after he left the scene of an accident in which the passenger on his motorcycle was thrown from the vehicle.

30-year old Ian Picurro has been charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and obstructing justice.

The accident took place Wednesday morning. Sheriff's police say that Picurro was riding his motorcycle when he missed the curve on Old State Road in rural Sycamore near Route 64. 54-year old Angela Threlkeld of Kingston, Picurro's mother, was thrown from the vehicle and left at the scene.

She was later transported by ambulance to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb and then taken to a Rockford facility for treatment of her injuries.

Police also say that Picurro hid the motorcycle that was involved in the accident prior to his arrest.

Bond was set at $30,000 for the warrant.
