The threat of West Nile still looms in Illinois. A dead owl has tested positive for the virus in Logan County and a dead crow tested positive in Woodford County. The virus tends to wean off once cooler temperatures hit but health officials say people aren't in the clear yet. They urge Illinoisans to keep wearing insect repellent containing DEET when outdoors. Also, be sure to fix any holes in window screens and eliminate standing water around the home where mosquitoes can breed. One hundred eighty five people in Illinois were diagnosed with West Nile this year. Seven died.
