An Ogle County judge set bond at $30,000 yesterday for a Rochelle man after he allegedly stole a hay bailer from a farm in rural Chana this week.
29-year old Nathan Stinnett was arrested on Tuesday for the felony offense of burglary.
Ogle County Sheriff's police say that the hay bailer was stolen on Monday from the farm. It was later located at a scrap yard in Byron.
Stinnett made his 1st court appearance Wednesday on the felony offense. He returns to court tomorrow for an arraignment.
Stinnett also has a drug case pending in Ogle County court. He was arrested last April on the felony offense of unlawful possession of cannabis, over 500 grams, along with production of marijuana sativa plants.
Rochelle police found 17 cannabis sativa plants and manufacturing equipment in a 20-foot rail container in the 13,000 block of east Route 38.
Stinnett returns to court on those charge on October 31st for a preliminary hearing. He remains in jail in lieu of bond.
