A tentatvie agreement has been reached between city officials in Rochelle along with area trucking companies dealing with permit fees for over weight semi-trucks. The proposal would be $25 a day or an annual fee of $350.
The ordinance was not voted on last night. Councilman Dennis Berg said that some wording needs to be completed before the proposal is approved.
The council approved the annexation of 3 parcels of land that totals 60 acres for the extension of the runway at the Municipal Airport. The proposal would increase the pavement to 5,000 feet. Construction should begin in 2013 and be completed in 2014.
City officials approved the bicycle transportation plan dealing with a route in the community. Community Development Director Chris Limas said it was a group effort to put the bike route together.
The city also plans to update their electric cost service study so they can unbundle their rates when bills are sent out to their customers. Several industries had asked for this process to be done
