Park officials in Rochelle met in special session yesterday evening as the discussion centered around renovation work at Memorial Park.
The board approved a bid of $15,396 from Metzger Brothers in Rochelle for the concrete pad at the park where the cannon will be located.
Executive Director Eric Christensen said the work will be done by Veteran's Day.
The park district received 2 other bids for the project. Metzger Brothers, who had the lowest bid, will also remove the current cement pad at the park where the cannon is located.
