For the 1st time in about 5 years, enrollment figures are down at Kishwaukee Community College in Malta.
There has seen a steady increase of full and part-time students during the past several years at the college. During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Kish President Dr. Tom Choice talked about the decline in numbers. The figures are down by 4 percent.
Last year, Kish was 1 of 5 junior colleges in the state that saw enrollment figures increase in both semesters.
Kishwaukee Community College currently has around 10,500 students.
Choice believes that 1 reason for the decline is that people who have a full-time job are not taking classes at the college this semester.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and re-broadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday mornings at 7 on "SAM", 102.3FM.
