Ogle County Sheriff's police continue to investigate 2 vehicle crashes which occurred Tuesday evening which claimed the lives of 2 women who reside in Byron and Mt. Morris.
The 1st accident took place a short time after 7 in the 8,500 block of Olympia Drive in Byron. A car driven by 74-year old Judith Anderson of Byron left the road near Yosemite Drive and struck a tree.
Anderson was transported by ambulance to a Rockford Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Sheriff's police believe that she had a medical condition prior to the crash.
The 2nd accident occurred a short time after 9 in the 31 hundred block of North Willow Road in rural
Mt. Morris.
A vehicle driven by 56-year old Pamela Keeton of Mt. Morris was traveling south bound when it crossed the center line on Willow Road and struck a car head-on driven by 60-year old Sylvia Colwell of Mt. Morris.
Keeton was pronounced dead at the scene by Ogle County Coroner Lou Finch. Colwell was transported from the scene by Lifeline Helicopter to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford and is listed in serious condition.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
