Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies began an investigation into burglaries from several farm properties located in the rural Polo area on June 30th. Tools and equipment were removed from buildings on the farm properties, as well as items that were stored outside of the buildings. In a multi-agency effort with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was executed at a rural Sterling residence on July 12th. Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 42 year old Robert J. Frieberg, of Sterling for burglary, and numerous stolen items were recovered. With assistance from the Milledgeville Police Department, more stolen items were recovered at a Milledgeville residence in the evening on July 12th. Frieberg is being held in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in Ogle County Circuit Court.
The investigation also determined that a 17 year old juvenile from Sterling was involved during the burglaries. The male juvenile was also charged with burglary and will appear in Ogle County Circuit court at a later date.
