Railroad projects are a highlight of tonights Rochelle City Council meeting.  One project is for Coated Sand Solutions which totals 1.2 million dollars.  It involves 500 feet of track and a signalized crossing on Steward Road.  The work is scheduled to begin in August and be completed in October.

The other rail project deals with 2.2 million dollars to extend the track by 1.5 miles.  This will enhance the city's switching capacity and also storage of cars.  Construction is set to start next month and be completed in December.
