Lee County Sheriff's Police continue to investigate the death of a Steward man after he was struck by a car while riding his bike Monday evening. Pronounced dead at the scene was 73-year old Richard Kalla.
The incident took place a short time time after 6 on Perry Road, just East of Illinois 251, in rural Steward.
Reports indicate that a car driven by 37-year old Steven Brown of Franklin Grove along with Kalla were traveling west bound on Perry Road. There was damage to the windshield of Brown's Ford Taurus.
Perry Road is paved.
No charges have been filed at this time as sheriff's police continue to investigate the incident.
The Illinois State Police are assisting in the investigation.
