A ceremony was held yesterdayat the Caron Ridge Shopping Center in Rochelle dealing with a new medical center and a current pizza business. The Shopping center is located along Route 38 and Caron Road on the East side of the Hub City.
The Sullivan family owns the shopping center as they 1st started with Sullivan's Foods 8 years ago. Scott Sullivan said that it was alway their goal to expand the shopping center in the future. They hope to have future retail businesses for the shopping center in the near future.
Swedish American Hospital plans to build a 13,000 square foot building just east of the shopping center near the Sears Store. Hospital vice president Don Daniels said that they wanted to increase their services to the Rochelle area in 1 of the major reasons for the facility.
The medical center plans to have around 12 employees when they open in the Spring of 2013 with a staff that could reach 40. They will use 10,000 square feet of the building at the beginning. The hospital will lease the remaining 3,000 square feet until they want to expand the medical center.
The Pizza Hut plans to move from their current location on Illinois 251 North to the shopping center by March 1st of next year. Owner Dave Burke said it was always their goal to have a business on the East side of Rochelle.
The current Pizza Hut has 20 full-time and part-time employees. Their new facility will be in a 6,000 square foot building. They will have 2,000 square feet with a drive-up window.
Several state and local officials took part in the ceremony today.
