4th of July Grassfire
The Ogle-Lee Fire Department responded to a fire yesterday afternoon that was reportedly started by fireworks. The grass fire occured at about 4:40pm at Joanne Avenue between Westwood and Woodlawn Acres in the Flagg Center area. The fire burned only about 1/10th of an acre of vacant land. No property was damaged and there were no injuries. Firefighters extinuished the flames and were on the scene for about 20 minutes. No other fires were reported in the local area as a result of fireworks. Rochelle Police responded to 5 calls of fireworks being set off at local residences in the Hub City but no arrests were made.
