A number of area communities have scheduled events today as we celebrate the 4th of July.
In Rochelle, the parade begins at 10 at City Hall. The route starts on 6th street and then goes to 6th avenue. The parade will then travel on Lincoln Highway, Lincoln Avenue, 9th street, and 10th avenue.
The July 4th parade in the Hub City comes to an end at Atwood Park.
The Rochelle Municipal Band plans to have a performance which will begin around 8. The fireworks show will follow at dusk from the Rochelle Fire Department.
