2 Rochelle men were back in Ogle County Court Friday for arraignments after they allegedly set a car on fire last week in the Hub City.
22-year old Joshua Terry and 35-year old Jason Rivera have been charged with the felony offense of arson.
The incident took place during the early morning hours of June 22nd as the vehicle was parked at 1019 Avenue "E" in Rochelle. Police say that a side window was broken and the front seat of the car was set on fire.
The officer on the scene was able to put the flames out with an extinguisher before fire crews arrived at the location.
The incident appears to be gang related.
In court yesterday, both Terry and Rivera were given Preliminary Hearing dates of July 11th in Oregon. At that time, they will plead guilty or innocent to the felony offense.
The local men remain in jail in lieu of the $50,000 bond.
Authorities say that both men have felony convictions. Terry on the charge of aggravated battery to a police officer while Rivera was for filing a false police report.
