Several hundred people attended a reception yesterday in Oregon for Lorrie Bearrows who is retiring following 19 years as Executive Director of the Serenity Hospice and Home in Ogle County.
The facility is located off Route 2 in Oregon.
Bearrows will be stepping away from her position on June 30th.
She plans to do some writing, misionary work, and teaching.
Bearrows will remain as an advisor to the Serenity Hospice and Home.
The New Executive Director will be Lynn Knodle of Byron who has worked at the facility for the past 2 years.
Knodle said that the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon has already seen an increase in residents who use their services since their relationship with KSB Hospital in Dixon this year.
