The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, construction work is scheduled to begin today on Route 2 in Oregon.
The project involves 3 miles of the highway on the south edge of Oregon to Castle Rock State Park.
The cost of the work totals $169,630 and should be completed by the end of June. The highway will be resurfaced.
Drivers in the area should be prepared to stop for flaggers who will be directing traffic on Route 2.
