School Officials in Oregon approved a proposal this week in which the High School Library will have air conditioning.
The district will receive a grant from Lowe's that totals $17,757. Superintendent Tom Mahoney said the project is expected to cost around $25,000. The rest of the costs will be donated to the district.
The board approved the property and liability insurance for the district. The premiums rose by $7,000 as they total $145,000. The increase was due to lightning strikes during the past year.
Negotiations continue on a new contract for the support staff in the Oregon School District. The 140 employees are working under a 3-year contract.
