City officials in Rochelle hope that a trip to Japan this summer will mean more companies from that country will open businesses in the Hub City in the future.
Nippon Sharyo began operations at their rail car facility this month in Rochelle. Gredco Director Jason Anderson of Rochelle plans to be in Japan the 1st week in August to give a presentation to 30 to 40 businesses.
Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson believes the trip will be beneficial for the city in the future.
Mayor Olson was a guest this week on the program "Let The People Know". He also beleives other Japanese companies may come to Rochelle who will supply materials needed by Nippon Sharyo.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and re-broadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday mornings at 7 on "SAM", 102.3FM.
