An ordinance dealing with non-highway vehicles along with an amendment to the Comprehesive Plan topped the discussion last night by village officials in Hillcrest.
The board has decided that the non-highway vehicle ordinance will deal with golf carts that residents have in Hillcrest. Other vehicles such as ATV's, mini-bikes, and go carts will be prohibited on the streets. Residents still will be able to use an ATV for snow plowing in the winter.
No action was taken on the ordinance last night. It will be talked about at the July meeting.
A pulbic hearing has been scheduled for July 26th at 6:30 with the village's Planning Commission dealing with changes in the Comprehensive Plan. The commission would like to see 5 parcels of land on River Road rezoned in the future when there is no business on the properties. The land is currently zoned for commercial or industrial use.
With homes around the properties, the commission would like the area zone residential.
The properties include Regional Ready Mix and the former asphalt plant.
The village also plans to add a complaint link to their website for residents who are faced with a problem.
