A Rochelle man will do some time in jail after an Ogle County jury found him guilty last November to the Class 3 Felony offense of Aggravated Battery.
39-year old Gabriel Almaraz was arrested following a fight which occurred in June of 2010.
The altercation took place in the 300 block of Irene Avenue in the Hub City. The male victim suffered a head injury as he received treatment at hospitals in Rochelle and Rockford.
Almaraz punched and kicked the male subject during the incident.
In court Monday, Almaraz received a sentence of 2 years probation and 41 days in jail. He has already spent 10 days behind bars for the offense.
