No one suffered any injuries yesterday after a fire destroyed a barn in rural Dixon.
The blaze began a short time before 2:30 on Route 30 as the barn was owned by the Zinke family.
Officials say that a controlled burn started the barn on fire. It was fully engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
The barn was scheduled to be torn down as piece of the structure were being burned in a hole prior to the fire.
Several departments responded to the scene yesterday afternoon which included firefighters from Ashton and Franklin Grove.
