A Wisconsin woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a DeKalb man in 2009.
33-year old Yashica McDowell has been charged with drug-induced homicide.
Police say that McDowell allegedly delivered heroin to John Kirk of DeKalb in June of 2009. He later died from an overdose in taking the drug.
Kirk apparently purchased the heroin from McDowell while both were in Rockford. McDowell moved from Rockford to Beloit, Wisconsin while the investigation was taking place. DNA evidence led to the arrest.
Bond has been set at $500,000.
McDowell appeared in court yesterday as a public defender was appointed in her case. She returns to Dekalb County Court on June 25th for a hearing.
No other arrests are expected in the case.
