Residents in Creston can expect to see the sidewalk project around the grade school begin late this month or early July.
Village Officials received an update report last night on the work. Board President Tom Byro said the work will be done prior to school beginning.
The board also talked about replacing the sidewalk in front to the Fogleman building on Main Street. The project is expected to cost around $10,000. The issue was tabled to the July meeting.
There will be some new hours when the Creston Village Hall Building will be open. Residents can now stop by on Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 and also now on Saturday morning between 9 and noon.
The village plans to replace 3 fire hydrants in the near future. The parts will cost around $3,000.
Creston officials are also looking at a possible date twice a year for a recycling electronics program. A resident from Rochelle may come to the village and pick-up the items in the near future.
No progress has been made during the past month on the installation of water meters in homes in the village.
