Record Spring

The state's climatologist says this spring was the warmest ever recorded in Illinois. State Water Survey climatologist Jim Angel says the average temperature for the spring months of March, April and May was 59-point-one degrees. That makes this spring the warmest since records started being kept more than a century ago in 1895. Last month alone was the fifth-warmest on record for Illinois, with an average temperature of 68-point-one degrees.
