City Officials in Rochelle are looking at donating money in the future to the Ogle County Civic Center Authority to help pay for expenses at the Hickory Grove Facility.
The Rochelle Administrative Commitee talked about the issue Friday.. OCCA has a new lease agreement with the Comfort Inn and Suites involving the Fitness and Aquatic Center. The hotel began to manage the facility on Wednesday.
Committee Chairman Dave Eckhardt told Newstalk 1060 that the proposal would be $3,000 a month to OCCA for a period of 1 year. The council would then look at the financial situation at the facility after the 1-year period.
At the present time, OCCA's other lease agreement is with Abraham's Bar and Grille at Hickory Grove.
City officials plan to talk about the money for OCCA during their meeting on May 14th. It would total $36,000 over a 12 month period.
