Window project for 2 Rochelle grade schools

The Rochelle elementary board continues to move forward in replacing windows at May and Central Schools this summer.

They held a hearing last night to sell 1 million dollars in school fire prevention and safety bonds for the project. Superintendent Todd Prusator said the window project will be completed this summer.

The work will be done at the Middle School and Tilton School next summer.

The board approved a land cash agreement with Jim Gensler of Rochelle to farm 14 tillable acres near Lincoln School. The figure is the same as last year at $230 per acre.

School officials heard a presentation from Rochelle City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh dealing with TIF districts. The city is looking at a possible TIF district near Aldi's along with the Hickory Grove area and the Rochelle Commons.

The Middle School graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 25th at the RTHS gymnasium.

The board met in closed session to talk about personnel and school security. No action was taken in public.
