Amending the ordinance for the Lee-Ogle enterprise zone, an increase in the municipal gas and eletrical tax, and a radium study with a state university tops the discussion this evening for city officials in Rochelle.
The council meeting begins at 7 at City Hall.
The Lee-Ogle enterprise zone is looking at adding 19 acres of land for Liberty Village of Rochelle, a nursing and rehabilitation care center off Flagg Road. The proposal also includes 4 acres of property involving a self-storage business in Dixon.
The gas tax would increase from 1.5% to 3.5% while the utility tax will be extended to December 31st, 2023.
The research on radium in the city's water supply will be done by Illinois State University at a cost of $20,000.
