Rochelle police arrested a local man yesterday morning on drug and alcohol charges following a traffic stop in the Hub City.
30-year old David Coil of Rochelle was arrested on the charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, prescription pills, along with unlawful possession of cannabis, under 10 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The traffic stop took place a short time before 1:30 in the 400 block of Cherry Avenue. Coil's car was stopped when he allegedly failed to signal when required. He received a ticket for that violation along with illegal transportation of alcohol.
Coil has been released from jail on a recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on the charges on March 8th in Oregon.
