A Rochelle woman died from blunt force trauma to her head and chest after being struck by a train Monday afternoon in downtown Rochelle.
The incident took place a short time before 1:30 on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near Washington Street. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was performed yesterday on the body. Local authorities have identified the individual.
Her name is not being released at this time until family members are notified about the incident.
