Approving the final plat for a new truck stop, adding territory for the Lee Ogle enterprise zone, and engineering work for a water main replacement project tops the agenda this evening for city officials in Rochelle.
The council meeting begins at 7.
The final plat is for Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores which will be located on the south side of Rochelle near the intersection of Illinois 251 South and Steward Road. They hope to have the facility open in December or the first part of 2019.
The enterprise zone deals with 19 acres of land for a specialized healthcare facility in Rochelle and 4 acres involving a self-storage business in Dixon.
The council also plans to increase payment of fees for subdivision and zoning applications. The original fees ranged from $500 to $2,500 in 2003. The proposal would increase that number to $1,000 to $10,000 based on the complexity of the project.
The water main replacement work will be on Turkington Terrace and McConaughy Avenue. The engineering agreement would total $46,400.
Tonight's meeting is open to the public.
