Rochelle and Byron High Schools will be represented this week at the State Speech Tournament that will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center.
Both schools competed Saturday at the Huntley Sectional.
Junior Nephy Valle of RTHS placed third in Special Occasion Speaking and Oratorical Declamation.
The Performance in the Round also finished in third place.
Junior Kathleen Rock of Byron High School finished in first place in Informative Speaking and third place in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Junior Heidie Raine of Byron finished in third place in Impromptu Speaking
DeKalb High School won the Huntley Sectional with 45 points followed by Huntley High School with 43 points.
Byron High School finished in 5th place with 19 points.
