Rochelle man back in court following vehicle chase with police

Bond remains $100,000 for a Rochelle man following a vehicle chase with Ogle County Sheriff's Police last week.

51-year old Randy Lemay has been arrested on the charge of 2 counts of aggravated fleeing to elude along with resisting arrest.

The incident began after police received word of illegal dumping of construction materials off of Fowler Road in rural Rochelle last Thursday afternoon.

Deputies located Lemay's vehicle, but he refused to stop. He was finally taken into custody in the 900 block of Illinois 251 North in Rochelle. Assisting in the arrest were Rochelle police and Illinois State Police.

Lemay has also been charged with the misdemeanor offense of littering.

In court yesterday, a public defender was appointed for the Rochelle man. Lemay returns to court on February 28th for a preliminary hearing. At that time, he will plead guilty or innocent to the charges.

Lemay remains in the Ogle County jail in lieu of bond.
