A 26-year old Polo woman, who was 29 weeks pregnant, suffered fatal injuries this week following a 2-vehicle crash in Ogle County.
Sarah Johnson died from blunt force trauma from the accident. Her son also passed away from the incident.
Johnson's husband, 27-year old Daryl, along with his 3-year old daughter, also suffered serious injuries in the collision. They are receiving treatment for their injuries at a Rockford hospital.
The accident took place Monday afternoon a short time after 3:30 on Route 26 and Edgewood Road, south of Polo.
The Johnson car was traveling northbound on a snow covered Route 26 when it crashed into a southbound pickup truck driven by 29-year old Dan Ditzler of Polo.
Ditzler along with 3 children in the truck, ages 5, 2, and 7 month old, suffered minor injuries from the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
