Ballot set for General Primary Election (Updated)

Monday was the final day area residents could file their petitions to have their name on the ballot for the General Primary Election that will be held on March 20th, 2018.

In Ogle County, 2 incumbents plan to run for another term in office. Brian VanVickle will be on the ballot for sheriff and Laura Cook for clerk/recorder.

Linda Beck and Patrick Wiesner are your 2 candidates for treasurer.

The following candidates filed petions for Ogle County board:

District 1: Benjamin Phil Youman and Rick Fritz
District 2: Wayne Reising, Patricia Nordman, and Jerry Shirar
District 3: Greg Sparrow, Jamey Sulser and Lloyd Droege
District 4: Skip Kenney, Bruce McKinney and Anthoney Rowley
District 5: Marty Typer and Richard Janes
District 6: Dorothy Bowers and Todd McLester
District 7: Dean Fox, Stanley Asp, and Ron Colson
District 8: Susie Corbitt and Lyle Hopkins

All of the candidates running for county board are Republicans other than Shirar and Droege who will be on the Democratic ballot for the General Primary Election.

State Representative Tom Demmer of Dixon plans to run for another term in the 90th District.

In Lee County, Sheriff John Simonton is running unopposed. The Treasurer's race is between Melissa Lawrence and Paula Meyer on the Republican ballot.
