Area residents got into the holiday spirit last night as they attended the Old Fashioned Christmas Walk in downtown Rochelle.
From a lighted parade to live entertainment and an assortment of food, the winter event was enjoyed by all ages.
The 12th Annual Christmas Tree festival at City Hall was a success. Residents were able to bid on 20 decorated tabletop trees, wreaths, centerpieces, and holiday gift baskets.
Just over 16 hundred dollars was raised this year for the Rochelle Community Action Network. The money will be used by local children during their holiday shopping trip.
This year's Community Gratitude Award went to the Rochelle Rotary Club as it was presented by Councilman John Bearrows.
Also 102.3 The Coyote went all Christmas to help welcome in the Holiday Season in Downtown Rochelle Friday night from 4-7pm, along with a live broadcast at RMU with the Rochelle Chamber, City of Rochelle and Rochelle Tourism.
Local residents are reminded that the community luminary event will be this evening from 5 until 9.
You can also have breakfast with Santa on Sunday from 8 until noon at the VFW Post 3878 in Rochelle.
