Due to the new state formula for education money, the consolidation issue between the 2 school districts in Rochelle has been placed on hold for the present time.
Public meetings were held this past summer about the issue. During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Elementary Superintendent Todd Prusator said they are waiting for additional information from the state due to the new state aid formula.
Prusator said that under the old state formula, the districts would have received an additional $700,000 in state aid.
Prusator said that both districts continue to work together involving the curriculum for students. He said any final decision on consolidation between the districts in Rochelle would be decided by voters during an election.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Good Time Oldies 1060 and rebroadcast Sunday morning at 7 on WRHL and 6:30 on The Coyote.
