A 19-year old is dead following a house fire this morning in Leaf River.
Gregory Wood was found in a second-floor bedroom with fatal injuries.
The blaze took place at 209 West 2nd Street in Leaf River as police and firemen were notified of the flames a short time after 12:30 this morning
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, the first floor of the 2 story home was fully engulfed in flames.
3 residents at the home were able to escape the fire. 2 were transported by ambulance to Rockford hospitals with serious injuries.
The cause of the fire and where it started in the home remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police with assistance from the State Fire Marshall's office and the Illinois State Police crime scene personnel.
