Rochelle police arrested a Chana man early yesterday morning following an altercation with officers.
The incident began when 27-year old Jessie Thornton ran a red light at the intersection of Illinois 251 and Flagg Road a short time after 1am.
Thornton, formerly of Rochelle, finally stopped the car in the 200 block of Powers Road in Hillcrest. He then ran from officers.
Thornton was apprehended a short time later and taken into custody following the foot chase.
He has been charged with 4 counts of resisting arrest along with aggravated DUI, driving on a revoked license, and disobeying a traffic control device.
An Ogle County judge set bond at $75,000 for Thornton as he remains in jail. He will appear in court today on the charges.
No one suffered any injuries from the confrontation yesterday.
