Fiat-Chrysler is recalling nearly a half-million cars and SUVs to fix a problem with safety restraints. The company said the defect involves an electronic detection device designed to prevent whiplash in a rear-end collision.
The recall includes 2012 Jeep Liberty SUVs and 2012-2013 model year Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger mid-sized sedans. The company said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries because of the defect. Owners will be notified about the recall by mail.
