Mayor Emanuel and Governor Rauner are trying to put their political differences aside to present a unified bid to win the new Amazon headquarters for Chicago. After a breakfast meeting with a couple hundred of the area's movers and shakers, Mayor Emanuel said his message is simple. He said the "Second City" should be Amazon's first choice.
Governor Rauner says Chicago is the best choice, if the state's tax and regulation climate improves. He said that's what he hears from Amazon and other businesses across the country. The city will submit its bid for the five-billion-dollar investment and its 50-thousand jobs in ten days.
