A Byron man suffered injuries this past weekend following an alcohol related crash in Ogle County.
77-year old Duane Hatfield was hospitalized when his car struck a tree and overturned at the intersection of Route 2 and Meridian Road in rural Byron.
The accident took place late Saturday night. Sheriff's police say that Hatfield failed to stop at the intersection prior to his car striking the tree.
He was transported by ambulance to a Rockford hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Hatfield was arrested on the charged of DUI and disobeying a stop sign.
