New charges have been filed against a former LaSalle County deputy after he lead police on a manhunt this week.
Will County officials have charged 46-year old Lowell "Max" Ambler with the felony offense of armed robbery, aggravated robbery, and unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.
The incident involved Ambler allegedly carjacking a vehicle in Plainfield on Wednesday. A handgun was used during the incident.
Police were looking for Ambler earlier this week who was wanted in Lee County on the original charge of home invasion and kidnapping. The altercation took place at a home in Compton on August 26th. No one suffered any serious injuries.
Ambler had violated his bond conditions involving the victim.
Ambler is also a suspect in the theft of a semitrailer in Mendota last Monday night.
The former police officer was taken into custody Thursday morning at a home in Earlville. He was a former police officer in that community.
Ambler remains in the Lee County jail in lieu of a 1 million dollar bond. Bond was set at 5 million dollars in Will County.
