The approval of a new fiscal year appropriation along with the appointment of a new treasurer for the village topped the discussion last night for officials in Hillcrest.
The appropriation totals just over $866,200. The budget saw an increase of $150,650 due to the payment of the sanitary sewer project.
Village President Steve Dodson said they hope to see more revenue for the village over the next year to improve their financial status.
He said 1 project the village needs to correct soon is their water flow and rust in the system.
The board did approve the purchase last night of a portable hydrant flusher at a cost of just over 24 hundred dollars.
Following an executive session, the board appointed village clerk Patty Moreno as the new village treasurer. She replaces Penny Payton who resigned.
Moreno will receive additional money for her new position. This figure has yet to be determined as the village also plans to hire a deputy clerk in the future.
