A Forreston teen suffered injuries last night after the van she was driving struck a tree in rural Byron.
Reports indicate that 18-year old Amanda Anderson was traveling westbound in the 9,000 block of Route 72 when the vehicle left the south side of the highway.
The van traveled through the ditch for about 200 feet before hitting the tree.
Anderson had to be extracated from the van by Lear River Fire Department personnel. Her injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
