The Oregon school district held 2 ceremonies yesterday dealing with their new welding lab at the high school and flexible seating at the elementary school.
The new welding facility features 10 clean air welding stations along with state of the art equipment. Students at Oregon along with Highland Community College in Freeport will be using the welding lab along with area residents who need additional training.
The school district received a grant from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois for the project.
Residents in the Oregon school district donated over 38 hundred dollars for the flexible seating at the elementary school. They include Wobble stools, ball chairs, standing desks, and bag chairs.
The seating project was introduced by teachers Dawn Merrill and Delaney Huels.
